Some new goals

So there are three blogs that I read that give insight on frugality and simplifying your life: Being Frugal, Get Rich Slowly, and Zen Habits.  I also follow hip_domestics  and sf_domestics  to get tips on home repair and other DIY living options.  I have decided to set some goals and use some of the ideas from these resources to put new habits into place to achieve them.

Composting is good. And the garden isn't too big a deal, start small. I did. Four plants, I think. Just to get used to it, and see how your garden grows, as it were.

I agree with the composting comment... it gets rid of a LOT of waste and can be used in your future garden!

I'm right on top of my neighbors... how much does a composting smell? Will I be able to smell rotting trash from my house?

That's a good idea. I was getting overwhelmed looking at plans for a square-foot garden or whatever and trying to think about how to space things out.

Found a spot with no grass, grabbed a tomato plant, a basil one, and 'ground cherries' because I never heard of them.

Honestly, it was a BAD spot, but I learned that. Don't plant on the TOP of the hill in my yard.

I also started to learn (since I bought flowers for out front) where to buy my plants. Which places sucked, which didn't.
