Performance Recap

Apr 05, 2009 09:47

Our first performances went quite well! We got lots of positive feedback from the audiences as well as feedback in general on how the whole set of performances felt and what worked best for the audience and what didn't work as well. If any of you have further comments, please let me know! Anything from "here's some music you might like to use" ( Read more... )

I have no idea how it might be taken as a comment, but Isabel could do a little less frequently the gesture of leaning away from the wall and draping one arm towards the audience, then back to the wall. I recognize its utility as a starting-up / unfolding sort of gesture, but perhaps wee variation to achieve that sense?

The segment to Apocalyptica worked very well. So did the quasi pas de deux (two women) set to a piece in six-eight time, I think because it was in neither quarter time nor three-four, which 95% of everything else that might be suitable probably uses....

One segment ended very abruptly during the show we saw, and we couldn't decide whether it'd been intentional.

It was striking (um) that the ensemble piece that included you was staged as a fight, whereas none of the prior segments involved overt strife. Slight tonal dissonance, not in a bad way.

another good reason to want to live in the bay area ;)

We're still gathering up the raw materials (photos and videos), but I'll let you know when those go up so those of you who missed it can get a flavor for the performance.

Good! Waiting...
