My Uncle Dan is amazing. So are some of his students. In particular, I highly recommend
Sky.

You can just stop there, if you want. Maybe watch it again, then stop.
This evening, my new landlord bought me an iced chai and handed me our new lease for review and signatures. Then I walked from the new place to N. Berkeley BART in 9 minutes (there is one uncontrolled intersection along the way). I also walked from the new place to D. Berkeley BART in 10 minutes (no uncontrolled intersections), including the time I spent stopped along the way to look at the theatre and dance adveritisements in the window of Plearn Thai (mmm... yummy) and also to look for the really cute cat who often inhabits the comic book store. I got some cash to replace the $75 I gave to Monty so he can run our credit checks ("Do all of you carry around so much cash?" "No, not at all. I just happened to go to the ATM today." "Oh. Okay."). Along the way, I noticed that we will be living in an awesome spot: on the very same block as this really cool old printing shop, not far from a place that sells Aveda products (hurrah!), close to all sorts of good food, and close to Downtown Berkeley proper, which I love dearly. In addition, the houses near us, though not made for gnomes or for Arthurian legends-cum-professors, are lovely, with nice gardens, pretty trees, and a fair amount of character. And that's not Lyle Lovett-style character, but "somebody cared about this place when they designed it" character.
Man, I'm so excited! (So excited, in fact, that as I was heading home and looking for the gorgeous kitty, I spied "V for Vendetta" in the Comic Shop window, and ended up spending $70 on Alan Moore. But I can foist at least some of the credit for that one on
profgreg. And the guy behind the counter, who was a big Alan Moore fan.)
If you want to be excited too, you should
come live with us.
