Man! Last night was my second class in Chinese Acrobatics, and I am SORE! The funny thing is that I don't think it's your typical muscle soreness-I'm mostly strong enough to handle the work we're doing because of all the climbing I've done. It's still work, of course, and unusual work at that, but I started out stronger than my classmates and I'm still "ahead" in that department. Rather, it's the stretching that's killing me. Even with all the ballet I did when I was younger, I don't think I've ever been pushed to stretch so much, so hard, so fast! Today I'll need to move around seriously and then do some gentle stretching to try to sooth the stiffness, and do a fair amount of sinuous sitting until then. Oh, yeah! Tonight is climbing! Excellent. Excellent.
Also, I think I was being sloppy/lazy with my abs last night. I should do some practicing / ab work this week so they are stronger for next Wednesday. Notes for the future: try to eat a small dinner sometime before class, so I have more energy and less dizzy. Also, remember to bring water! (Bad Lara! Those little cups at the studio are far too small!!)
Finally, my legs are all sorts of pretty colors from various bruises. They must be from climbing. (Isn't it cool how bruises show up so prominently in the shower? *grin*)
