Good God

It's hotter than Hades on a heating binge.  Why can't PGE collect it and save it for winter when we need it?  *SIGH*  My house is like a thousand degrees and I can't get my dog to get in the damn car so we can go for an extended drive in the luscious air-conditioning.  Grr.  At least I had the foresight to put a comforter up over the sliding glass ( Read more... )

heee, I'm from Texas, so people who don't have central air conditioning always baffle me. I couldn't live without it!

my dad lives in Austin and has TWO air conditioners, apparently. one for upstairs, one for down. i'd never heard of such a thing. but i can see it being necessary in good ol' Te-has. how hot is it there? it's 107 here. *wilts*

haha, I don't know how hot it is there because I'm in Colorado at the moment, halfway up a mountain! I'm in flannels and long-sleeved shirts! And yeah, at home we have the main house air conditioner, the guesthouse a/c, and then wall-units in some of the upstairs rooms because they get hotter with the sun shining on the roof, etc.

good lord. why do people live there again? give me nice, rainy drizzle every day of the week. P.S. what are you doing in CO? *is jealous*

we live there because we love the heat! If left to my own devices, I keep things at around 80 degrees, but my mom is from Pennsylvania and she cranks the house down to what I view as sub-zero temperatures (but is really like 70F). And I'm in Colorado for a family vacation... though I declined to go on the family outing to see Bruno, since I hear there's a lot of peen flailing about in that and wasn't keen on viewing that with my entire extended family in attendance. *snerk*

See, now, I'm from upstate New York, so I don't get people who don't keep snow brushes in their cars year-round. ;)

For most homes around here, central air is a waste of money. Last year, I never even bothered putting in my window air conditioner, and this year I'm still resisting (89 and humid today!).
