so this student is driving me crazy. he's studying for the LSAT, and he got this brilliant idea that he would give us his book full of LSAT tests if we'd photocopy them for him. anyone with any admin experience knows that photocopying pages out of a book is a pain in the butt. so my boss agreed to this arrangement, and asked me to do the ( Read more... )

Not to mention that a book like that is intended to more or less be a consumable, which means photocopying even fairly small parts is illegal and copying the whole thing DEFINITELY is and you are using state equipment to do so...

yeah, but then i had a thought last night that it's technically for 'educational' purposes, since my boss is teaching the LSAT class that this guy is in--and no money is being exchanged (more's the pity). i could certainly be wrong, but i'm guessing that's the excuse she'd use if i said something...

My favorites are 8 and 10. Additional ideas:

11) Pseudo-double-sided copies. Copy half the test then put the paper back in, upside down, and copy the other half on the back of the already printed pages.

12) Grease pencil mark on the platen glass, right where it will be most annoying on the answer key.

13) Shrink the print as much as possible. Do not bother to put more than one shrunken tiny copy one each page. Only do this on the last half of the copies so he will not notice until he is gone. If questioned claim that you were trying to save paper - observe to see if he buys this illogical logic.

*hugs* Offers you a giant mallet for appropriate student control.
