Disney Villain Throwdown : Treacherous Predators

Nov 18, 2009 18:39

Welcome to another episode of Disney Villain Showdown! The picspam where points are made up and everything doesn't means a thing.
THIS PICSPAM EMPLOYS WANTON USE OF THE STRIKE AND SMALL TAGS. I APOLOGIZE... BUT NOT REALLY.

In this episode we have one cool cat versus one very smug snake.

The Contenders

On the left we have Scar! This is a cat who knows where it's at. Scar just wants to be seen as the wonder that he is.{The Lion King}

On the right is Jafar, Grand Vizier of Agrabah and particularly terrifying when I was a child. {Aladdin}

First Round! Heroes! Who were the mortal and not so mortal enemies of these Big Bads?

Scar:
Scar's bro and king of the jun- Pride Lands, Mufasa. Scar's one and only nephew, Simba. Obviously some family issues going on there.
Timeskip!Simba

Jafar:
Street rat and diamond in the rough, Aladdin.
Aladdin's alter ego. Prince Ali.

And the Hero's crew?

Timon & Pumbaa. Meerkat & Warthog. Simba's bff's.
Nala, childhood friend and Simba's intended~.
Rafiki, seemingly insane mentor guy.

Abu & Carpet. Monkey and ...carpet. Okay... magical flying carpet.
Jasmine, princess of Agrabah, falls for Aladdin's boyish charm. And by extension, her friend and tiger, Rajah.
Genie. A... genie obviously. Becomes rather fond of Aladdin.

Point Scar!
Scar picked on those weaker and/or less manipulative and/or lower on the food chain than he was. Good idea when you're the villain.

The why?

Scar wanted to rule the Pridelands.

Jafar wanted to rule Agrabah. And apparently, also Jasmine.

Point even Jafar!

It would have been a tie since the whys are essentially the same. Become King, Sultan, Supreme Ruler, Almighty Overlord, what have you of their respective kingdoms. Jafar however adds just a dash more of villainy by wanting to get the hot princess as well as the kingdom. Random point.~ In the musical, Scar totes want Nala as his queen.

Henchpersons animals employed in plan.

Hyenas.
The main trio. Shenzi, Banzai, Ed.
And the rest.

Iago.
His magical Cobra hypnostaff. (Normally this would be in arsenal. But Jafar's opponent is a lion so, yeah.)

Point Scar!
While the Cobra hypnostaff was super cool. Scar had a freaking army of Hyenas at his command.

Villainous Plan of Villainy?

1. Scar's 1st plan seems to run along the line of kill the next in line and then be very patient. Or something. To accomplish this plan he manipulated his nephew into going to the elephant graveyard. Once there the hyenas were to kill Simba and Nala as well, cause she was there.
2. After his 1st plan didn't work out except to scare the crap outta the cubs, Scar plans became much more insidious. His 2nd killer ha plan was to place Simba in the path of a stampede. And then have Mufasa would go rescue Simba. If things were to go according to plan they would both die.
2b. Scar straight up murders his brother.
3. His 3rd plan is more of a 2c. After killing Mufasa and disposing of Simba, Scar claims kingship. And ushers in a new era of Lion/Hyena rule super dramatically.

1. Jafar's 1st plan is get someone to go into the Cave of Wonders and get the genie's lamp for him. The first time doesn't work out to well.
1b. After finding out that Aladdin is the 'diamond in the rough' needed to get into the cave, Jafar has him arrested. He then disguises himself as an old man in order to convince Aladdin to get the lamp for him in exchange for his freedom.
2. After he believes the lamp is lost forever, Jafar decides to take a much simpler path towards sultanship. His 2nd plan is to hypnotize the Sultan into proclaiming him Jasmine's fiance. After getting married, he would ditch his wifey and father-in-law and be Sultan. When Aladdin shows up as Ali and Jasmine starts falling for him,I'm pretty sure he decided to get rid of Ali as soon as he showed up, but Aladdin/Jasmine is too cute not to include. putting a wrench in the marriage plan, Jafar has him killed.Unfortunately for Jafar, Aladdin is rather tenacious. Fortunately for Jafar, Aladdin has Genie.
3. After Jafar realizes Ali is Aladdin and has the lamp, he gets a hold of the lamp. In his last plan he takes quick advantage of having 3 wishes. Seriously. Very quick advantage.

Point Even!
Scar has no qualms about killing his brother and nephew. Jafar has no problems killing anyone, really. Both Jafar and Scar get what they wanted through some highly villainous means.

How well did the plans go?

Scar became king. Disastrously for him the Pride Lands became super bleak and nigh unlivable due to the hyenas over hunting. Him being too stubborn to migrate with the herds didn't help any. But still, he became king, a bad king, but king.

Jafar became Sultan like he wanted. Then added the most powerful sorcerer in the world onto the mix, just cause.

Point Jafar!
Jafar practically had the whole thing in the bag and it was a great bag. Sadly, he made the same mistake as Clayton. Thrice. As I mentioned in the last episode, when you have the hero at your mercy? Kill him. And then make sure he's dead.

How awesome were their defeats?

Scar-Dead. Eaten by his hyena 'friends'. Scar? Here's a hint. When your nephew who can totes kick you ass tells you to go? You go. Because no matter what happens after? It's not going to end well.

Jafar-Alive-ish. Trapped in a magical lamp as a genie.

Point neither.
While getting eaten by hyenas is much more um...impressive than getting sucked into a lamp; they both could have avoided being defeated. Pride cometh before a fall or getting stuck in a lamp and all that.

Winner?
It's a tie! Scar and Jafar are both equally fearsome predators.

And here's my little secret. I picked the pointage in order to make it equal.

And now for something completely different...

Princess Jasmine.
THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING. I JUST HAVE A SUPER HUGE GIRL CRUSH ON HER.

First Episode: Clayton vs. Gaston
Caps from here , here, and here.
Also why is villain so hard to spell!?
