This place is SUPPOSED to be a desert--so WHY does it keep snowing on me?
Seriously, in the past 3 (4?) Christmas's I've been out here (in Nebraska, that is) it's NEVER snowed this much. It was supposed to be done, so we went to Wal-Mart and then were going to go out to the bluff and take some pictures...except we came out of the Wal-Mart and it was snowing so hard we were both going "Bluff? What bluff? It's just Scotts now, no bluff." Bah.
Did get the pictures of my hair and some of the older snow developed. I'll post those as soon as I get around to loading the picture CDs on the computer (I am SO glad I have a digital camera now!). Got some really nice artsy pictures of snow on things in the yard. And more dog pictures--since everyone loved the pooch.
My hands are freezing.
Only a week left out here. I'm not sure how I feel, like I said to a friend last night--"I want/don't want to go home." I like visiting my mother, and the midwest feel is so nice (I really can't stand K-ville), but I miss Matt and my friends in the south. I'm looking forward to solar, even wtih all the Mae drama. I'm ready to go home.
We're working on wedding stuff. Ugh, makes me want to gag. It appears that the cake is going to be the super "amusing" part. Was looking online for a picture of kind of what I want, and not having a ton of luck. But found lots of terrible (and terribly expensive) cakes that are uglier than sin. Weird.
Looks like I'm going to come back out here in May between graduation and summer classes to do last minute things and let the church ladies do a bridal shower. Fun.
Talked to an orthopod (orthopaedic doc at the hospital) who my mother works with--he thinks that it looks like I bruised the tendon the goes under my kneecap, and that it'll take 6-8 months to heal up. Niiiiice...at least he didn't think I ought to have x-rays.
A friend sent me a set of books for Christmas. Yay for books! I may start on them when I finish the first Swords book...they're okay, but not thrilling me so I'd rather read something more highly recommended.
We're making crab legs for dinner tonight. Yay.
I've been feeling on the edge of sick since yesterday--fatigued, chilled, sore throat/cough, achey. So far I'm managing okay though. Hope it continues, I have too much to do to be sick.
When I get back to K-ville I need to go slap some financial aid money on my vol card so I can buy books on Wednesday. Wednesday is the first day of class...but I'm not sure I have any MWF classes. Bizzare. I should post my schedule...
Except it's Sunday, and CPO closes at 6pm eastern on Sunday. A website with hours. Weird.
I still haven't gotten Matt's Christmas present...and I'm not sure what to get him. Suggestions? Suggestions would be nice. I think he's getting me a new sword for solar and something else (strongly suspect it's a bow, but I'm not sure). We're strange. I know he'd like an all foam shield (for solar) or maybe a pair of poofy pants (also, for solar)...so I'll think on that. Meh.
Look for pictures in the near future, I'm going to go try to warm up my cold little hands.
If I'm in K-ville the weather is...
But if I'm in Nebraska it's more like...
