SG-1 805 - Icon; 915 - Ethon

geonncannon demonstrated to me that I am a terrible SG-1 fan and found two episodes that I either didn't watch or don't remember watching. Considering that these eps are S8/S9, it's quite possible that I saw them but it was in a mad dash of watching to catch up that I really just don't remember them.

*hangs head* I know. And I call myself an SG-1 fan. So I'm going to watch them now. Since I've also been terrible about rewatching the entire series like I said I would with paraka way back when, I'm going to review them. I won't go into as much depth as I do with new eps since most people haven't seen them in a long time either.

--Okay, so opening teaser and I have got *nothing.* Apparently I skipped watching this episode for some reason. I was a bit worried that they'd try to amnesia ploy, but Daniel seems to remember what happened, so I'm good.

--Hehe...old school SG-1 opening.

--Oh, wait! I think I remember this...vaguely. I want to know why Sam is not carrying her P-90. I know it's a meet and greet and she's probably trying not to be threatening, but dammit! There is security to consider.

--The sexual tension between Daniel and Leda is killing me. OMG, girl, you're married! Quit making googley eyes!

--I'm sorry, but when an enemy force may be moving in on your position, you do NOT just meander down the corridor! God!

--"Avidon" It means "the Gods are just." And all of SG-1 is trying hard not to say something rude or just laugh out loud. Although, the way Sam was surprised, it must have happened recently. But that's one of those things that should be done early on in a coup.

--You dumbass! You do not turn down humanitarian aid to bargain for guns! It's just a bad idea! Especially since all the SGC wants in return is to find a fallen comrade. Although, the political scientist in me is dissecting his actions into theoretical models and it's sad.

--Teal'c obviously realizes that Daniel is speaking Goa'uld. Sam realizes it (the fact that she doesn't turn to Teal'c for a translation confirms, in my mind, that she totally understands it, she just plays dumb). Jack is the one who is thrown. "He's changed." Oh, I had forgotten how much I missed the Jack expressions.

--It should not have taken Caine to shoot the fanatic. One of his people should have done it after he shot the hot lesbian whose name I can never remember but I see on shows all the time.

So, I think I did watch that episode and either fell asleep in the middle of it or didn't really pay much attention since it's such a Daniel heavy one. Altogether not bad but I prefer geeky Sam. But commander!Sam there at the end was incredibly hot, so I was okay.

So, instead of making a separate post for Ethon, I think I'll just keep going.

--Oh, noez! Weapon o Dooom!

--I love the apparent superstition over the Big Chair. Although I was about to ask why the hell Landry wasn't in that all important briefing and then they go and answer my question for me. Yay!

--Aww, Pendergast and Carter are both trying to be heroes. But the good kind. Although I'm wondering why Sam didn't take it into consideration, at least, that the original specs of the plans would likely have been enhanced later, especially if they were thinking about the Ori possibly giving people the ability to build ships later on down the line.

--So Sam and Cameron share a hug that's like old friends and Teal'c is looking all intense and emotional. Yeah...I am definitely seeing that pairing more and more. You've corrupted me, Geonn! Absolute corruption!

--"Do you ever give up?" "Not until I'm dead. And...sometimes not even then." I remember that line! I laughed just as hard this time.

--When Cam brought in the beer and gave it to Daniel, Daniel kept looking at it like he wasn't entirely sure what to make of it. I hope his tolerance has gotten at least a little bit better. Although I do think it's funny that Cam went to Daniel. The team is pairing off, it seems.
