Yay, gay!

So Houston Pride was this weekend. I had a blast. Pride festivities actually kinda started on Friday for me because Amanda and Charles came over. We ate at Humphrey's and screwed around for most of the night. We went to see 1408 in Conroe. I kinda liked it. Of course, it was supposed to be this scary horror movie and I ended up giggling through the scary parts. Amanda called me psychotic. I can't help that seeing other people jumping out of their chairs makes me giggle.

We got home kinda late and then Charles decided he wanted to watch Interview With A Vampire. Which I wouldn't normally mind, but it was already late and we had to get up kinda early on Saturday. But Amanda and Charles needed to do some last minute laundry, so I figured why not? I stayed up with them long enough for the laundry to get done and then I was out. But I was still up until about 0400. *sigh*

Saturday morning we got up. Sort of. It was later than I meant for us, but we eventually crawled out of bed. And everyone showered. Jason and Cam came over and we decided to eat before leaving. Unfortunately, we didn't finish eating until about 1400 and we didn't leave until 1500. We were definitely working on gay standard time.

Then, to make things worse, I realized that we had left the banner in my apartment. So I had to turn back when we were already to the State Park and go get the damn banner. Then it started raining as we hit Conroe. Not cool. Especially since it was raining so hard that I wasn't willing to go above about 40 mph. On the highway. On I-45! This from a girl who usually goes about 80 or 90.

We finally got there and the rain had stopped. The afternoon basically consisted of wandering around and finding our people and eating at Baba Yega's (yay, veggie food!) and then getting in line. We had a bitch of a time getting the t-shirts and beads ready to go. We were kinda counting on having the art car but they reassigned her at the last minute. But we managed.

The Parade itself actually went incredibly quickly. Last year that was a lot of stopping and starting. This year we were practically flying. But we weren't quite as tired. Part of that may have been because it rained and it wasn't as hot and muggy.

We all decided to come back Saturday night and Charles and Amanda stayed with me again. We also got Peanut (Jason's dog). We actually stayed up later than I thought we would just sitting around and talking about our sex lives and one of Jason's friends called to tell Jason that he had just broken some guy's rib while they were fucking. It was funny as all hell. I'll have to incorporate that into a fic somewhere.

But Jason and Cam finally left and Charles got in the shower. I decided that I was too tired to shower; I'd probably have fallen over at the attempt. So I went to bed.

Sunday we lazed for quite awhile and then finally got up and went to eat at Mr. Gatti's. We made tacky comments about some of the clientelle and just talked. There was more sex talk but also about how it's looking like most of us are going to eventually move to Dallas.

Once everyone was gone, I geeked out and watched History Channel for about three or four hours.

I also realized this morning that I forgot to eat dinner last night. Oops!
