As you may or may not remember, I was pimping Scrivener for Windows in the first part of this month. I kept talking about how excited I was that the open beta was going to be released pre-NaNo because the novel I'll be working on is a doozy of a novel that has multiple story lines wandering in and out of spotlight because this is basically two stories put into one. Well, I don't think I said why I was so excited to have it, but that's why. Also, it will be awesome for my academic writing.
The important part of this post, however, is the awesome news that today is the release of Scrivener for Windows open beta! That's right...today, it all happens...eventually. I've been trolling the forums, waiting for more info about the when of release time and the best I've seen is they anticipate it to come out 2000 GMT. That's 1500 my time, 1600 NY time, and 2100 UK time. I think. I know it's 1500 my time which makes me sad because I will be at work. You have no idea how tempted I am to call in sick at this moment just so I can have Scrivener. That's how excited I am. Has knowing that timeline kept me from constantly refreshing various pages in the hopes it'll be out sooner? Yeah, right.
To my other fellow NaNoers, are you doing anything new and exciting for this year's project? Obviously, mine is that I'm using awesome new software and I'll be going to the local events. Are y'all going to spend the entire month naked to make it easier to concentrate? Are you buying a brand new computer so that you have a clean workspace? Are you trashing the idea you've been working on for 11 months in favour of the one that just bit you yesterday? Share!
nanowrimo,
