Big two-oh and book mania

So, I turned 20 on Sunday, and it went without much ado. I wasn't sure if I wanted to do anything, but I though maybe I oculd go have lunch or something since it was nice day, but I knew I won't get far with my friends. Everyone is so unbelievably busy. We all have to plan 3 months ahead. That's an exagerration, but not much! I wonder if they miss doing things at the last minute. I'm the odd one out. I don't work so I have no job to rush to. I don't like partying or socialising much, since I don't like small talk unless I'm feeling ultra chirpy, so I'm not running bar hopping or partying. I still get invites, which is sweet. I don't like dancing, unless I'm tipsy, so I'm not a clubber. Also, I don't have much money these days, so buying $10-a-glass alcohol is out of the question. But, you know what? I still really like my life! I'm not missing out on anything.

There is a book sale going on at my uni bookstore, and I went in to explore yesterday, and I was expecting one meagre table, but to my surprise, horror and ecstasy, there were four huge tables stacked high and tight with books, book, books! Many were brand new hardbacks, and excellent condition. They were non-fiction and extremely interesting stuff. My friend had to get me a towel to stop me drooling all over the books. It was so fantastic! I'm going to go back, but I can't buy much. I'm suppose to be saving money, but they're all great bargains! All these thick academic-style non-fiction all going from $8 - $15! Now that's seriously cheap! I chose three books at first, but then I thought its still a little expensive all together, since I'm not desperately needing them. I had to put a book abou the Marquis de Sade back, since something pervy was not what I needed. He's a facinating man though.

So I ended up with a book on Medieval English ladies in the years 1000 - 1500. And there's pictures! Its fascinating. And I got a book on reading in the 18th-19th century, and there's plenty on my favourite victorian writers.Oh, the joys of book buying!
