1.) Where do you work?

I work at a non-profit in the fundraising dept.

2.) Is this a local or National company?
it's a lcoal non-profit privately funded by conservative groups.

3.) Does your company employ the use of Temporary or Placement agencies?
Not that I know of, but I can find out.

4.) Are you able to visibly show your piercings and/or tattoos at work?
I have never seen anyone weierder looking than me, and that's kinda sad.:)

5.) If so, is it frowned upon, encouraged, or simply tolerated?
In my department, I am not encouraged to be "creative" in with my appearance, because I am often called upon to give tours of our facility or to meet with prospective donars who have lots of $$$ in their pockets. I can dress in what is termed "business casual," but if we get big wigs here, I pull the hair back, keep my make up professional and hide my septagrams and pentagrams.:)

6.) Are you allowed to have untraditional hair colour/styles? (Ie... black with fire engine red streaks/ purple mohawks/ emo kid hair/ etc.)

I'm not sure. The majority of the staff are preschool teachers, so they dress in jeans and colorful tops and wear their hair and make up in what is considered a non-threatening manner.

1) Qwest Communications, a 14-state telephone company west of the Mississippi River.

2) National

3) No. We use vendors and THEY may use temps, but we are a Union shop so we don't use temps.

4) Yes. We don't come in contact with the customer so as long as you can be heard clearly (or type clearly if you're in Ebusiness taking online Chats) they don't have a problem with personal appearance.

5)Tolerated. I can't imagine my supervisor coming along and saying, "You know, I think you should go get your nose pierced," but I could see her saying, "Wow, that's a nice looking tattoo! When did you get it?"

6)Yes, see #4.
