So imagine this:

You are a minimum wage worker at a factory, pulling 40 hours a week, barely meeting ends for your 3 person family. You hear the Senate is willing to give you a little break, raising the minimum wage (for the first time in almost a DECADE) to $7.25 and you think "Whew, I could really use that. A few more pieces of fruit each week, a bit more in the meager savings (if you can even afford that), perhaps just providing some more necessities you and your family needs. What does congress say : No.

Now imagine this, Congress gave themselves a raise, AGAIN. These people make nearly $170,000 a year. Thats not just preposterous, its offensive. Everything is much more expensive (just think about gas), and they want to approve a cost of living increase for themselves without approving one for our lowest paid laborers?

Ain't that some shit.

I say we make every nay voter in Congress switch places with an average minimum wage earner who has to support a family for a month, have them vote again, and see what happens.

Didn't they read what Dubois said about the importances, even the purity of honest labor?

Look up and see how your senator voted here: www.senate.gov
