From the community doctorwho via metaquotes vic patgund (with gratitude to all of 'em):

LJ friend: I've never heard of Torchwood.

Devi: It's a bit like what would happen if Doctor Who and the xFiles had a baby and then let Joss Whedon babysit.

It's television, you heathen! Let me see if I can put it in a way you can relate to better ... Never heard of Salvador Dali? He's a bit like what would happen if Escher and Picasso had a baby and then let Timothy Leary babysit.

Gotcha! I have an original hand-signed Dali hanging in the breakfast room. And a signed & dated Picasso hanging in the powder room downstairs. Fortunately when the other house burned down, the firemen recognized the value in that art and saved them both! I took pictures of many Escher works in Norway.

Thanks for putting it in terms I could understand - although I don't have a Timothy Leary handy . . .

Talk about perfect placement! Before coffee in the morning, Dali is definitely how I see the world, so breakfast room is perfect. And Picasso in the bathroom? I can think of no better cure for diarrhea!

And we both have plenty of Timothy Leary handy, it's all in the way we look at the things around us! Twisted slightly to the left with a bit of wry thrown in in.
