I didn’t get into this business to please sophomore Tracy Schwartzman.

Note to self: Having a girl vampire bite a man's femoral artery is the quickest way to getting the show shut down.

I'm finally revising Dracula. Even though I only have 15 pages, they're a gazillion times better than like, the entire first draft of the script. There is more tension, the flow is better... I'm ecstatic. I'm hoping and praying that I can get the revisions done before December so that BHS Players could do it in the spring, Mr. Ray Libby and his musical director stipend be-damned!

I feel like that scene in Young Frankenstein, when Gene Wilder is reading "How I Did It" by his grandfather, and he looks up, and there's this wild look in his eyes, and of course his hair is standing up on end, and he says in a frenzy "It.... could... WORK!"

In other news,

I've gotten strangely addicted to reading Harry Potter fanfic. Yes, I am embarrassed. But my best pal Tom said that it's not something to be ashamed of. And then I said, "But Tom! I've read some Snape/Hermione! To me, that's HORRIBLE!" And he said, "Hm. Yeah, that kind of is. But it's not the worst that could happen." And I asked, "What could be worse than that?!" He replied, "Aragorn / Frodo fanfic porn." And I said, "You're right. That is considerably worse."

And then he didn't respond for a while.

That is all.

Pam will be doing The Miracle Worker in the fall at BHS. And she wants me to be costume coordinator and props mistress. And, the best part? She might actually pay me this time. Which would RULE. I'm hoping that my work schedule won't conflict much with rehearsals, because I'd love to quasi-assistant direct. Or at least help out in auditions. I think that would be awesome.

October 11 = Alaina's new birthday. Season 2 of Arrested Development AND first season of Veronica Mars? On the same day? It's better than my 21st birthday. And for those of you who are aware of the fiasco that was my 21st birthday, you know I'm not exaggerating.

Okay. Back to work. There's a major artery in the calf, right? A girl mock-biting a guy's calf shouldn't shut Dracula down... and besides, it could be in the book...

writing, arrested development, dracula, veronica mars
