(dumb) things I gotta do today
It's the Holiday Party at work tonight. I have to be there at 5, 20-pound turkey in-hand. Along with some other things as well (see below). But the turkey has to be done by 2 at the latest, because I have an interview at 3 p.m. in South Portland.
We'll see how successful I am. :/
1. Put Elmer the Trick-Performing Turkey in the oven.*^
*A reference to Cartman's trick-performing turkey he was looking for to include in South Park Elementary's Fourth Grade performance of the Helen Keller musical. "Water, Helen! Waaaaater!"
^If by "trick-performing," I mean "dripping its juices and blood all over the kitchen." Thanks, Elmer.
(I have no idea why I decided to name it Elmer. It just sounded like a good idea at the time.)
2. Wrap Secret Santa gift.
3. Sign Christmas Card for Secret Santa tonight.
4. Wrap Yankee Swap gifts.**
**I'll take another look throughout the house, but I don't really have anything awful to bring in for Yankee Swap this year. So instead, I went to Wal-Mart and have three rolls of crazy duct tape I'm going to wrap up together (like, pink zebra print-crazy), a Buzz Lightyear mini flashlight, and three DVDs I bought for five bucks each, with which I'm playing a game to see how long it takes Brad and John to realize that they're all Movies Alaina's Never Seen, and then I'm going to see if they somehow end up in my lap. Game on.
5. Create Christmas Party music list.
6. Laundry.
7. Paint fingernails.
8. Finish Sarah's present.
9. Bring ice bucket, ice, and radio in addition to Elmer, the Cooked Trick-Performing turkey.
10. Oh! And the carving knife and fork! Crap!
11. Organize Christmas TV viewing schedule***
*** I have so much TV on DVD, that I can literally spend three days watching all of the Christmas episodes. It takes me half a day to discover the optimum order in which to view them, however, because I am an idiot.
Dear god, I think that's it. I wonder if I'll have time for a nap?
