Shun Oguri, Mao Inoue reunite in “Veterinarian Dolittle” drama

It is now confirmed that Shun Oguri (27) and Mao Inoue (23) will co-star in a new drama series this fall. The pair, who appeared together in the live-action “Hana Yori Dango,” have been cast in an adaptation of “Juui Dolittle” (“Veterinarian Dolittle”), a manga written by Midori Natsu and illustrated by Makiyoshi Chikuya.

Oguri plays the part of Kenichi Tottori, a highly capable veterinarian known by the nickname “Dolittle.” He has a sharp tongue, and he maintains a strict attitude about issues such as money and proper pet care. But in addition to saving animals, he also helps fix the problems of their owners.

Inoue plays the female lead as Kenichi’s co-worker Asuka Tajima, while Hiroki Narimiya (27) as rival veterinarian Masaru Hanabishi. The show will also focus on the love triangle between the three characters.

The show will air on TBS in the Sunday 9:00pm time slot, starting in October.

Oguri Shun and Inoue Mao Playing Together Again! In a Triangle Relationship with Narimiya Hiroki?!

It has been about three years since "Hana Yori Dango 2 (Returns)" where they last performed together, when Oguri Shun's and Inoue Mao's new dorama "Veterinarian Dolittle" will start in October this year.
Oguri will be playing the role of Tottori Kenichi (a.k.a. Dolittle), a vice yet talented veterinarian. Coming to request treatment from Dolittle is Tajima Asuka, played by Inoue Mao.

Ever since "Hana Yori Dango" Oguri had been praising Inoue, with the confidence to appoint her for his first directed movie, he invites her as a guest to his radio show and are private and publicly on good terms to the extent to invite each other to the respective parties at their homes.
"After we managed to get through the sorrow and the joys of 'Hanadan', I am looking forward to be playing with Shun-kun again", Inoue said.

Next to the two off them, there is also Narimiya Hiroki in the role of the gentle veterinarian teacher. Yet there seems to be a triangle relationship to be evolving with Narimiya (Hanabishi Yu).

Oguri also commented on the awaiting of the shooting: "To everyone, we had been together with before now: I am grateful to be together with you again. With Inoue-san and Narimiya-kun, this feels like working with a family. However, now that there are this many animals added to the family, and while listening to their voices and thinking about how to face them, I would like to complete this with everyone. "

I've read lots of comments of people having doubt about the plot and it's capability, but i for one believe that it has lots of potential to succeed, why? These 3 actors are known for versatility. comedy? drama? romance? They will definitely knack them off. Their acting can overshadow the silliness of the story.

But i am curious about Mao's character here. Why did she took this role? Familiar cast and staff? Love for animals? I've read some bickering between her and Shun's role, but i hope it will not be like Domyoji and Tsukushi. Heaven forbid please no. And the characters, weird people indeed, i am curious who will cast who. (^_^)

And since October is still sooooo far away i am so dying of curiousity and as a spoiler lover, i have the itch of buying the last manga published to know if i would be able to find something interesting. Should i? Shouldn't i? Help me Jun! xD
