Official Episode 7 (Chase-Cameron) News - and my own brain overanalyzing things again.

By the time this finally came out, I wasn't even sure I wanted it anymore.

But, ya know...

When an agoraphobic man falls mysteriously ill and adamantly refuses to leave his home to get treatment at the hospital, House and the team go to him to figure out what might be wrong. Cameron takes charge as she has treated the patient before, and she and the team figure out ways to bring the hospital to the patient’s home, much to Cuddy’s disapproval. But as the patient’s condition worsens and their options for treating him inside his home become increasingly limited, House and the team scheme to get the man into the hospital for surgery without causing any further physical trauma or emotional anxiety. Meanwhile, Cameron and Chase attempt to work through some kinks in their relationship, and House deals with an annoying itch he cannot seem to scratch as Wilson comes up with his own analogies about House’s prickly situation in “The Itch” episode of HOUSE airing Tuesday, Nov. 11 (8:00-9:01 PM ET/ PT) on FOX. (HOU-507) (TV-14 D)

Cast: Hugh Laurie as Dr. Gregory House; Lisa Edelstein as Dr. Lisa Cuddy; Omar Epps as Dr. Eric Foreman; Robert Sean Leonard as Dr. James Wilson; Jennifer Morrison as Dr. Allison Cameron; Jesse Spencer as Dr. Robert Chase; Peter Jacobson as Dr. Chris Taub; Kal Penn as Dr. Lawrence Kutner; Olivia Wilde as Thirteen

So - yeah. I mean, good? I think? Definitely not "almost entirely Chase and Cameron," but who is honestly surprised anymore to find out that Katie Jacobs lied? That's what I thought. But I'm encouraged that their relationship plot was even mentioned in the release. And, oh man, this is so going to angst. They're going to fight. I'm going to have to try very hard to focus on them and ignore the meta-ness of it all. But at the same (awkwardly depressing) time, it's pretty much a given that those scenes are going to be incredible with regard to emotional input. Just, oh my heart. At least they won't break up, which I've never actually been worried they would - I'm just worried and scared Peter Blake and David Shore are going to make it much less awesome than it should be. Peter Blake probably won't do that, though. He loves Cameron and Chase too much.

Although, there is one specific promo pic that I find particularly interesting. Considering that the running theme of this episode seems to be relationship anxiety and fear of the unknown, I find this quite symbolic:

Okay, ready for my rambling on the metaphorical nature of TV plots and underlying symbolism and how much I think it totally wins at life? Too bad, I'm doing it anyway. Clearly that photo is relatively pointless and boring at first glance. Chase and Cameron are doing surgery. Okay. Cool. Except that the patient is agoraphobic.

"Agoraphobia is a condition where the sufferer becomes anxious in environments that are unfamiliar or where he or she perceives that they have little control." - So sayeth Wikipedia

That almost entirely describes what I've been thinking will be going on with C/C in this episode; the sudden onset reality of their relationship possibly falling apart in front of their eyes if one of them doesn't step up, stop being so worried/afraid, and overcome all the obstacles of their pasts. Chase doesn't want it to end, doesn't want to lose her, but he's consistently terrified that it's out of his control and she'll eventually decide he's not worth it anymore. Oh, and he's also consistently anxious-paranoid about her past crush on House, to the point that it turns him into an incompetent bastard. Cameron, on the other hand, fears trusting her heart because the last time she allowed herself to truly love a man, it broke her heart completely. She's afraid to make that commitment; to venture into the unknown where she's handing over some of her control and allowing life to lead their relationship wherever it chooses. She's more likely to walk away from people she has the deepest of feelings for than she is people she merely lusts after or feels drawn to somehow, because once it starts getting too serious and meaning too much to her... she has to find an out before she lets it go on long enough to totally destroy her heart again when it falls apart. Because she expects it will always fall apart. Which, on that note - Chase always expects that she doesn't love him even half as much as he loves her, so it's only a matter of time before he's proven a failure in yet another area of his life. GAH, THEY ARE BOTH RIDICULOUS. Man, I love it so much.

So, you take all of that into account and then also take into account that it appears as though they are - alone, together, just the two of them - operating on the actual agoraphobic in a joint attempt to fix and heal him. Working together to right what's wrong in the patient that symbolizes the current status of their emotions toward each other. I mean, really, it's almost too blatantly obvious and yet it's just oh so fabulous in the symbolism. They will surely also be talking out some of their own issues while performing the surgery. See? Simultaneously healing the real agoraphobic and their own agoraphobia-like issues. SIGH, PRETTY.

Hence, they aren't going to break up. They're going to come out of this stronger.

I mean, unless the patient dies on the table in the middle of their relationship chat. Then, ya know, we're screwed. But, oh, I can just already see it - they'll be talking things out and suddenly something will get said that's too intense or too emotional or too scary and potentially capable of reversing all the progress, and at that very moment - like predictable TV magic - the patient will start to crash. Heh. Whatever, they're still not going to be breaking up. They are going to be making out excessively, though. This we know for sure.

SQUEE. But, oh no, I can't start squeeing again - it's too dangerous.

*runs off to attempt to depress self again*
