Hey Folks,
As Facebook folks may have surmised I am in the Big Smoke ! Not a permanent move, I like Birmingham (and the price of a pint being less than £2*) too much. Em's job has brought her to this fair city and instead of her living out of a suitcase in a hotel we've been wonderfully lucky to be offered space in my friend Vanessa's flat for a month or so. If anyone fancies a drink whilst I'm here drop me and email or text.
So what did I get up to on my first day...
I had a lovely morning finding somewhere that sells the craft materials I need to do a few bits and bobs I have planned (gotta earn a living somehow) and then bimbled along to a lovely pub called The Magpie near the Gherkin where Em's is based. In the afternoon I went on a mammoth trek over to the British Museum via Smithfield, Greys Inn and Lincolns Inn fields. Was a top afternoon, tried a lovely pint of beer, Fuller's Discovery. Not really had Fuller's beer much before and it was nice and refreshing.
Other beers included...
Robinson's Dizzy Blonde - Very mild, refreshing, slightly suds texture going on. Okay but not one I'd leap at again.
Ringwood's Forty Niner - Was like semi succesful home brew, not really my thing.
Samuel Smith's Old Brewery Bitter - Lovely cold watery refreshing beer. And as a Samuel Smith beer less than £2 a pint in London !
Today's plan involves South Bank this morning (although is a bit chilly) and then meeting Em's for lunch, I've been told a place called Momma Mash is rather good, and then back here to begin work on something (could be anything yet, am still undecided).
Laters,
C.
