Experiment 16 [Backdated to stroke of midnight New Years Eve]

Jan 01, 2012 16:59

[A minute after the clock strikes twelve in the city of Discedo, every single light in the city that isn't broken flares to life, lighting up every building and street. There's a few moments silence before Washu finally speaks.]

Happy New Year.

washu's gift to the city, let there be light

[There is an indignant little squeak from this end. And a very unassuming lump of blankets, presumably with the squeaker inside.]

So bright!

[Chuckles and smirks.]

Of course, electricity tends to do that to lights.

[The blanketlump whines.]

But it's too bright now!

[At least Flandre thinks so for the next thirty seconds.

The white rabbit hopping up onto blanket mountain to investigate the noise thinks you are silly, Flandre. It has its ears turned toward the communicator like satellite dishes--while its nose twitches in what might be a disapproving manner. Maybe.]

[She can't help it, the sight is just too cute! Laughter soon replaces the chuckles.]

Just let your eyes adjust~. It's better than being in total darkness all the time.

[More whining.]

But I like the dark!

[Well when one has their very own flashlights for eyes suddenly total darkness isn't such a big deal!

Sucks to be without, though.]

But if I come out the lights will get me!

[The rabbit on the blanketlump finds this silly. And starts digging at the blanket as if it were attempting to start a burrow. The blanketlump squirms instead!]

That tickles!

[Twitch.]

How can the light get you? It doesn't move.

[What seems to be the blanketlump's head rises up from the amorphous blanket-mass--facing the wrong direction. The rabbit on top of it stops digging to cling instead because THE EARTH IS MOVING.]

It'll get in my eyes!

[Eventually it does pan around enough to see the device properly--revealing two very red eyes. Little else for now, except a few bits of a face highlighted by their glow.]

[Now that gains a little more of her attention. Washu leans in a little to get a good look at those eyes.]

I see.. then you are a nocturnal creature with enhanced night vision. I can see where it would be painful then.

[The eyes blink a few times, processing the words. Then they glance around a bit, though the owner seems rather disinclined to extract herself from the blankets. The same could not be said for the rabbit, which hopped off as soon as it was able. Flandre chirped after it.]

...I guess it doesn't hurt so bad, now....

Oh? Good. You just need to adjust a little.
