Summer!
I am finally all moved into Ryan's apartment. It feels good to not have to return to the dorms at night. I have had to spend a significant amount of time cleaning. Although the apartment itself is really nice, Ryan and his roommates never clean which just makes it nasty. But I roped Ryan into helping me and everytime I clean things look a little better.
On Friday Ryan and I got up at 4 am (!) to drive to Oxford, OH to look at apartments. It is at least a 7 hour drive. I can't believe that I am moving to Ohio. Yikes! We met with a guy from a rental agency who brought us around to some of the grungiest apartments I have ever seen. And he couldn't get into 3 of them because his keys didn't work. Hmmm. But we also looked at two other places that were really nice. One was called Candlewood and we could get a two story townhouse for $575/month. It was really nice, but was in a weird area of town with lots of parking lots and few trees. We also looked at Chestnut Village Apartments, which were also really nice, but the only units available were on the lower level. It was only $530/month for a two bedroom apartment and was in a really nice area. I don't know which we'll pick but we have to decide by tomorrow.
There is also drama at work involving the ocular micrometer of a microscope. I have been battling with graduate students to try and get one to stay in Madison. I really want to be done with the zooplankton already. I suppose I will be fairly soon.
I also saw the new Pirates movie, which was okay. I'm glad I saw it but I probably won't be seeing it again. Today is Bratfest where I will get a veggie brat.
Off to do more cleaning and/or chillaxing because it is a holiday. Woot!
