Today Nick and I got up around noon. Then, to the grocery store where we bought things for breakfast at moms tomorrow. Nick is making a hash brown casserole thing ("Funeral Potatoes") and I'm making a sausage and cheese strata. I also had to get away from Nick in the store so I could get some beef. You see, I got him a food dehydrator for christmas, for making beef jerky mainly, and so I wanted him to have some marinated meat all ready for when he opens it up in the morning, because I'm sure waiting until Tuesday to go to the store and get meat, then marinate and everything, would just be horrible. I want him to be able to play with his new toy immediately! So tonight while he was playing zelda I went into the kitchen and chopped up raw meat (EWWWW) and made a marinade out of what I thought a marinade should be. It has teryaki, beer, pepper, red pepper flakes, worsteshire, liquid smoke, lemon pepper, onion salt, fresh jalapeno, powdered mustard, and a whole lot of other stuff from the spice rack. I hope it turns out ok.
This afternoon we went to Don and Debbies house for the annual xmas eve dinner and presents. It's a bunch of friends of my moms, and Debbie considers herself my other mother. I've been there on every xmas eve I remember, but it was Nicks first. He was a little nervous and quiet, but everyone liked him and it went pretty well.
We drove down 37th street after, and it was pretty lame. I remember when every house went crazy and 37th was amazing, but this year there were a lot of houses that didn't do anything. It's kind of sad that this Austin tradition is dying, but what are you gonna do. I guess we could start a petition to force the residents to participate, but I don't think that would work. Oh well, everything must come to an end. So, now it is officially CHRISTMAS DAY! SWEET! I bet I won't be able to get to sleep tonight, like I was still 6 years old. However, I bet I'm able to sleep past 6 a.m. Oh man I'm excited!

Merry Christmas everyone, enjoy this special day, your family, and your presents!
