An interesting point for going to war. I slowly find my self being a bit more pro war. Probably far behind the power curve, as far as prowar goes. But damn the Administration has completly botched the job. Hope someone enjoys this as much as I did.

As a lifelong lefty of the commie- pinko-faggot variety, I was shocked to wake up one day and find ( Read more... )

"because we have to start remaking the Middle East somewhere."

First off, it’s not anyone’s job to remake the middle east. We certainly don’t need more faux american democracy spreading it’s seed into other countries. There’s a reason 90% of all Iraqis think of America soldiers as occupying their land instead of liberating it.

"the equality of the sexes, religious freedom, the separation of church and state, tolerance, and secularism are superior to religious fascism as practiced in Saudi Arabia and secular fascism as practiced in Iraq."

Most those things are only practiced in theory in this country currently. To say that one side is superior in anyway to another is simply foolish. Sorry that doesn’t work for me. It sounds more like a excuse to run oil up to 67 bucks a gallon.

"And then there's the small matter of the Islamo-fascists' stated desire to impose their values on us."

Of course that’s only because we’ve been imposing it on themselves for a few decades. Besides the main message being sent is that they require a full US pullout of Muslim countries, and the bombings will stop. That’s something coming from the Bin Laden camp. “Stop interfering with Arab nations and stealing our oil and we’ll stop coming after you.” Sorry, but them imposing their will on us doesn’t work for me either.

Personally I don’t see a problem with a complete pullout from all Muslim countries if it ends the violence. Instead though we come in with both barrels blazing, killing tens of thousands of innocent people. Look at just how superior the American pro-war effort is... “you blow our stuff up, we blow you up” Rinse... and repeat.

What’s stated in that text in my opinion is straight forward ideology based on the work of another spin doctor. War should never be an option. Gandhi succeeded with that type of thinking during World War II, but of course that wouldn’t be mentioned in this article because it would work directly against his main point. I think democracy works a lot like Christianity, it doesn’t work for everybody... especially America’s version of it.

I won’t say this guy is wrong or that you're wrong for agreeing with it, I just know that the article as stated does nothing for me but play out the same pieces of rhetoric that I've heard over and over again. Nothing can justify war in my mind, even Gandhi believed that in World War II and not only did he keep India out of the war, but he also liberated it. That’s quite a feat for not even firing a single shot.

Until human beings can find a better answer than politics and war to structure their lives, people ought stay out of everybody elses sandbox.
