Even Ripley would have a hard time believing this...

Dear Diary,

I have just found out from the man I love that vampires, monsters, and demons do indeed exist. In fact, the town where I moved to get away from my own troubles is, in fact, a haven for said ghoulies.

Furthermore, my boyfriend is a special assistant to the head superhero in charge of fighting said ghoulies, and has been since they were in high school together.

I'm still awaiting final word on Santa Claus and leprechauns.

Love,

Me

Well, what am I supposed to think about all this?

If we hadn't been attacked by a real, honest-to-goodness vampire, I probably would've thought Xander was being funny. Or trying to be, anyway. But since it's all checking out so far...

It took me a couple of days to decide where to go from here. I mean, my first impulse is to run screaming for the hills, to get away from this Halloweentown for good and never look back. But then, it's likely that nowhere's completely safe. I mean, if Sunnydale's like this, then surely larger cities like L.A. and New York have their own problems.

And they thought the cockroaches were irritating.

My second impulse is to be very, very, very pissed off at Xander, and by extension, all of his friends, including Buffy. But while not telling me the Big Secret of Sunnydale is kinda like not telling people where exactly the Chernobyl city limits begin in Russia, I can see where he was coming from. I don't agree with where he was coming from, but I understand.

So...what now, I guess?

I need to talk to Xander about this. I've been sitting in his apartment tonight, waiting for him, thanks to my trusty set of spare keys he'd given me. I guess he's out on patrol, hunting down whatever nasty slimy thing that's crawled out and about tonight.

He'll be back soon, though. And then we'll talk this out, and get things straight.

Because no matter what, I do love the lug.

Hope he gets home soon, or else the conversation will have to wait till tomorrow...
