Packing and Its Consequences

Aug 25, 2007 04:49

Well, I guess now is as good a time as any to post an update.  Yes, I am only just finished packing now (and by packing I mean I have almost everything in boxes and sitting in our living room).  Yes, I should have started earlier.  But hey, there was quite a bit of stuff that I never actually unpacked so I figured it wouldn't take this long this year...  Part of the time I spent wasn't solely on packing, though, so I guess that's good.

My day was a bit odd.  I got up at a pretty reasonable time, and my mom and I went out a couple hours later to get a shoe rack (which I realized would help solve the problems I had with shoes last year) and some masking tape.  After that I didn't spend as much time on packing as I should have, but I played a whole bunch of things on the piano since this would be the last time for a while that I'd be able to do that.  Then after supper my mother announced that there was still mini-church tonight and I had to go.  I told her I still had a lot of packing to do, but she made me go anyway.  When I got there, I sat down and then the next thing I knew they were singing to me and my dad was carrying in a cake.  I don't think I've ever had such a surprise - I just totally did not expect it.  The cake was my favorite (the same as the past several years) and there was some leftover, which Mom said I could bring with me to school if I can figure out a way to transport it safely.  So we'll see.  : )

After that, the internet died for a little while.  : (

And then I packed, between a couple other things, for hours on end.

Oh, and I only have one serving of cookie dough left (serving = how much I eat in one sitting).  I guess I finished it after all... (or will have when I eat the last of it tomorrow)

See you all in a matter of hours!!
