Exploration Week! *does the happy art student dance* I only went back to college on Tuesday to do sound recording for the Flash movies. I think JUST about everyone who recorded that day has a bit of my voice on their Flash. Not that I complain too much, but now when I open my mouth to sing it sounds like I'm doing it through a washboard. Maklumlah, (That's a given) Pen coughs like a madman and I couldn't get it right the first coupla times. Zaidi reads like a bloody newscaster! It's got this really clean, RTM TVP kind of quality to it. Jeffrey Nicholson, eat yo' heart out! XD At least Terence' flash will not have the 'whales suiciding' on the beach. I made sure of that. ;) Yessir, that's Mweeble: part little girl, part angel, part evil clown, part leatherback turtle, eater of peanut-butter HK thick toast *ulp...*
Had a convo with dmjewelle the other day that got me to thinking. Have I really become that much more cynical? (The snark tag doesn't get as used as often on this journal any more, so it's a small comfort. ^^;) Around the time my cousin hit my age I swore I wouldn't end up like him - dark, angsty and smoking a pipe. And his IS an evil laugh. I told myself after the 2ch incidents I wouldn't let anything bad keep me from smiling up at the world. Better be watchful for now!
With that in mind, I suppose I SHOULDN'T kill that shojo-manga fan who basically said that 'angst=absolutely necessary for a good story'. Otherwise all the stories will be the same! Like shounen which is all icky and Not Pretty and Not Nice! >_< Christ, woman, you sound like the typical fanbrat who worships the Tamiaka Bird and has not had her eyes opened to the possibilities of hawt buttsecks - which can be a good thing, some times. OTOH, I won't comment on the fidiot a few weeks back who said thoughtfully about Tenipuri 'Wouldn't XXX be a great partner for YYY if he was a girl'? How much you wanna bet that if YYY WAS a girl in canon and established in a relationship with XXX, you'd hate hir her as indirect competition? Adoi! There are plenty of good shonen manga out there! Rave is one, right? One Piece, too? You don't have to be Angsty McAngstypants to tell a good story. Besides, yeah, suuuuure, Fushigi Yuugi used the 4 Guardian Beasts, but Magician Detective Ace used the beasts, the Yellow Dragon AND the Kilin! Top that, HA. Angst free, fairly void of upskirting as far as I can see, and nobody gets raped or healing smex (YOU HEAR ME, WATASE!?) Angst necessary for a good story my arse. That's like saying every shounen manga is about naked boobs (YOU HEAR ME, OBI HIROSHI WHO I WILL KILL ON SIGHT!?!!) Lord knows I've tried to put the angst on shihan but it just hasn't worked. You like to see the triumph of Tru Wuv, we like to see the triumph of Twu Gwit, er, Grit. In any case, the Tamiaka Bird can choke on its own tongue. *fuu*
Speaking of shounen. BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN! Damn, I really was hoping it would win Best Picture. Congrats anyway to Ang Lee! Seems the conservatives are already making noise about how they weren't represented at the Oscars. Idiot. Baka. Goondu. BERAPA KALI NAK CAKAP GEISHA=/=PELACUR BEFORE YOU BOLEH 'CAYA?! (How many times gotta tell you geisha=/=prostitute before you believe me!?) May ninjas slay you in the dead of night with blunt and rusty shuriken, after they do the Tamiaka worshipper...
I hear that Japan wants to fingerprint foreign tourists over the age of...16, was it? That doesn't sound good for my plans to invade Shibuya for UM Festival '06. Yes, I plan to invade it! I shall stab the suit actors, steal merchandise, carve anarchy symbols into the whole Tsuburaya clan's foreheads and assassinate the cute-as-a-button MC ladies! And if I have time, I will kick a kitten and smoke a puppy for dessert!! If Ultimate Sweetness from Outpost Nine is there, I shall TURN HER TO THE DARK SIDE!!!
I wonder how the 'Lah gang might take this new development, since they always go one big jingbang to UlFes. Such a pity, after Tsuburaya went to all that trouble to put English on their posters and tell us carefully all the details, I guess we'll just have to stay away if somewhere in the crowd an official eye or two is watching you with suspicion. It's like trying to read Peking Duck with your mother looking over your shoulder. WTG for tourism, people. *eyeroll*

(WHY was she eating something with GRAVY at her keyboard?!) Topics ranged from hawt art to fanfic genres to earsquats. And oh! She drew me Femme Zagi! XD Which lead to this amusing conversation:
