Happy Deepavali...and a rather belated Halloween.
Set the alarm for 7.30. It rang, I rolled over and went back to sleep. >_<;;
Yesterday was major briefing for next term, which we found out during Illo class. Acrylic...still sucks, btw. I'm not quite sure WHAT exactly happened, but in the end, me and tanlammy and trirose and Constance decided, "WHEE! Let's cosplay!" Too bad only Royce and Yian May joined us. So the grand total of characters was:
- Reload!Gojyo - Me
- Mysso Almasy, OC - Lammy
- Black!Subaru - Constance
- Amane Misa - JL
- White Witch - YM
- God knows _what_ he was - Royce
It was fun, although I must say MY HAIR CANNOT BE CONTROLLED BY HUMAN HANDS. Blew it dry that morning and it had gone kapoof by the end of the day. *groan*
I didn't sit in for the ID and Illo lectures (but GODS, Leo is damn long-winded!), but the others appeared promising. Rico Chan came in for AGD...and unfortunately he sounds like he left his brains where he got his accent. He was like this huge, fluffy, flailing, bouncing version of Softboi. With black hair. I swore to God if he said 'okaaaay?' one more time during the whole talk, I'd put a marker up his ass. In short he sounded like the lovechild of me and Softboi, gack, HELP.

Truth be told his was the most informative lecture, as the other 2 I sat in for didn't give a really detailed explanation of the subjects covered. MMD had an absolutely lovely showreel to offer, and I FINALLY got to see 'Sleeping With The Fishes' with the SOUND ON. (WTF's the use of putting a bronze award-winning movie in the gallery if it's practically a mime show?!) Really a lot of things to learn in the course of the, well, course.
The good news is, we learn Flash, which I've been wanting to dabble in. Bad news is, not much of a chance to do character design, which is what I really like. Take Kamiza Maki. She started off three years ago as a 15-year-old tomboy with a lawn-mower haircut, who was Dyna's student and couldn't stop calling UNPC!Tiga 'gaki'...and now she's a 21-year-old tomboy with a very NICE hairjob, two brothers, a painful past, a demonic wolf-form and an even larger dose of angst. She's pretty much become an alternate avatar. And who else do you know who gives her OC Ultras surnames? And keeps track of them?! Head of MMD department says if I'm really that interested in it I should be looking at AGD and DGA instead. But...don't you need fanTAStic grades for DGA? And I think Mom and Rico may be right about advertising. You need to be either very stone-faced and stone-hearted or very resilient to survive, both of which I am admittedly NOT. ^^;
I'm willing to cut back on the chara design-ness if it means I can learn all this damn cun stuff, and I do have very open horizons afterwards...but I would have liked to learn a little more on what I love the most.
Guess I'll be thinking about this some more, then. A LOT more. *sigh*
