Sort of wondering if I should put these on UMLah. I think I will. Let them see some 'real' fanfic ;D
Title: Through A Glass (Lens), Darkly
Rating: G-PG
Summary: Nexus learns about cameras.
Nexus had never actually touched a camera before. Through Himeya, however, he understood the awe that came of using this amazing machine, filtering light through this lens and that lens, burning a monochrome image onto monochrome film that, when immersed in strange chemicals, would birth a picture bursting with many glorious colours. It could only be magic.
Through this Dunamist, he understood, contrast, harmony, golden thirds. He saw how the static images could stir up powerful emotion. He understood also the primal fear of having your soul destroyed by a little black box.
After all, it had happened to Jun.

Title: One Sweet Promise
Rating: G
Summary: What Nexus said in the silence between Ren and him. Spoilers for episode 26 of Nexus.
Senjyu Ren did not ask to become a Dunamist - only life’s simplest things interested him. But the call is always strong, and the caller always finds you.
“Were you the one who called me?” Ren had asked. “You’re not supposed to know anything about me and call me out.” Nexus had answered wordlessly, made Ren a deal, and the youth tilted his chin up at him and said “Sounds good.”
He had not promised extended life, or strength and power. Only the way to make the best Kumasan Custards the world would ever taste.
Now that was worth fighting for.

Title: Clothed in Flesh
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Some information transfers from senior to junior.
“So what are humans like?” Noa turned to see Maxx looking earnestly into his face.
“…Strange.” Still, this was said with some degree of wistfulness as he gently fingered his left shoulder. Under the armour, the old scars still ached once in a while. “But it appears their habit of wearing clothes is not out of modesty, but necessity. The males, particularly.”
“Can’t they retract their-”
“No.”
“Oh. Ow. The women?”
“No control down there either.”
Maxx leaned back in his chair and let out a sigh, enlightened and somewhat sympathetic. “No wonder there are six billion of them.”
