One of the most important things I believe is that things always work themselves out on their own if you don't try to force them and you listen carefully to what the universe is saying. There's no reason to worry and no reason to get upset. It's hard to live by this principle; there are so many things to worry about and so many material desires to distract you.
One day, a poor farmer's only horse ran off. Upon hearing of this, his neighbors visited to offer their consolation. The farmer said, "wait and see." A few days later the horse returned, bringing three wild horses with it. The farmer's neighbors rejoiced at his good luck, but he said only, "wait and see." When his son attempted to ride one of the horses, he was thrown and broke his leg; his neighbors commented on the terrible luck, but again the farmer simply said, "wait and see." The next day, the Emperor's troops came to the village to conscript young men for battle, but the farmer's son was passed over due to his injury. Now everyone was amazed by the farmer's good luck, but again he said only, "wait and see..." - Taoist parable
"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these." - Jesus, Matthew 6:25-29
