I floated the idea of rounding up a bunch of Portland WoW players and rerolling together, so we can have meetups and get to know each other outside the game. It drew a lot of positive responses just from
damnportlanders. So the next step is to develop some criteria and pick a server. I'm looking at RPPVP servers. RP servers, from what I've seen and heard, are secretly the "grown-up" servers.
The most important criterion I have in mind is that the population be roughly balanced between the factions. I hate that Alliance always wins EOTS on Kil'Jaeden's battlegroup because Horde never has enough players to fill a team at the start. Some servers have A:H ratios as high as 3:1. Emerald Dream is supposedly only about 1.3:1. I created a toon there the other night and was surprised to find six other people in the Tauren starting town.
I want to recruit a mix of experienced players who are tired of chasing a non-existent end game, latecomers like Amber and I who missed all the level 60 raid content, and complete newbies. Once we get a few people and establish the guild, I'll start flyering Hawthorne and other areas. I want at least 50 people involved, preferably twice that.
I'm excited! I always wanted to play with a bunch of people I know in meatspace.
