johnny5000 posted some very interesting links. I'd heard nothing about this interview with General Wesley Clark in which he states that White House officials decided within hours of the 9/11 attacks that they were going to pin it on Saddam Hussein, evidence or no evidence.
And here's a sad story from Afghanistan: We are now negotiating with the Taliban over terms that would give them a role in the country's new government. So apparently we killed hundreds of civilians and lost (how many?) Americans over there for absolutely no fucking reason. Fuck that shit!
