Day 2

Jan 31, 2011 11:27

THE OCEAN. Is so pretty. I like it a lot. The ocean was basically the theme of day two. I pulled over tons to take pictures of it (which can be viewed on FB, all 69 of them lol).

I've decided that instead of attempting to take pictures of myself in all the places I visit, I'm just going to take pictures of my Totoro. It makes my life a lot easier, plus then I don't have to think about how I look after a night of sleeping in my car and I don't have to care about looking good in a "myspace pic" that I have to take of myself that day. Where Totoro goes, so goes Tara. It is known.

I'm almost out of Oregon, which is nice. I did have to get gas though O.O Have I mentioned that I don't like not doing it myself? It freaks me out. But I found a gas station that was selling it for 2.99 which was about .26 cents less than all the other places. Turns out it was a company that was part of BP which made me really unhappy, but hey... I'm on a budget... and... God, trying to justify this does not make it any better. The guy was nice though... he'd only started working there three days before.

I'm not really sure of the order of the rest of this, but at some point there was a beach and I stopped. I wrote in the sand and took some pictures. People were flying kites and the fog or mist or something off the ocean looked really cool. I stopped several more times along the road, taking pictures.

ALSO! I really like bridges. Every time I come across one, which is kind of a lot, I say "bridge!" just because I'm excited. Bridges and tunnels! They are fun. ^___^

I drove for a long time looking for a place to settle down. I had already decided I wanted to stay in a motel for the free wifi and an actual bed. I had this plan where I was going to watch a bunch of 5th season Buffy. It's the season I've seen the least and I wanted something comforting while going through this world of unknowns. After going through a couple towns that I deemed unsatisfying, I stopped at a Motel 6 in Gold Beach OR, right after going over a bridge! It cost 53$ after tax, which I thought was kind of expensive... I don't know why I wasn't expecting it to be that much. Looking back it seems like an okay rate. Anyways, sleeping alone in motel rooms isn't all that fun. They are kind of creepy and this one was really big. Plus my Buffy watching totally didn't work out because the internets kept dying. So upsetting. In fact, as I write this post the internet is down. I'm just hoping the pictures I uploaded actually went through.

So, day two ended with weird dreams and a creepy motel room and no Buffy. Let's see if day three will end better. I plan to spend most of today in the redwoods. We'll see!
