Just finished reading P.N. Elrod's latest Vampire Files Book, Dark Road Rising. God, I am so very over her kink for Jack torture porn. Granted I didn't read her self-published last one, sob, with Jonathan Barrett, but this is the third or fourth in a damn row.
However I was totally floored by Whitey (Gabe) Kroun, the mobster who *stopped* being a monster when he became a vampire. The slow reveal as to what he was before the bullet in his brain wiped his memory. I hope we can keep him around. Not sure what I think about the hint that Bobbi and Jack are going to Hollywood so Bobbi can break into the moving pictures. I love too many of the supporting characters. Gordy. Shoe. Charles. I want to know how Whitey was turned, and how he learned some vamp stuff before rising. And if there are implications to him feeding a glass of his blood to Escott when Charles was dying.
