After watching the last 24/7 episode I have made up my mind to reject this ridiculous NHL-created rivalry-that-isn't Pens-Caps nonsense. Honestly, this thing has been deliberately manufactured by the league to put butts in seats and I'm just not going to fall for it anymore. We had a perfectly good and intense rivalry with Philadelphia before this

well, i do think there was a rivalry, going back to the Patrick Division days, but you're right it was never as big as the one with Philly or even NJ, and most of what's going on now is manufactured. I don't know why the league just can't see what happens naturally and promote from that.
I will say i kinda do hate the Caps. I hate Ovi, though for me that was born out of his own actions, not just oh he's a "great" player and b/c i like Sid i must hate him. Teddy, GMGM, and BB are more pathetic than anything. + i'm pissed about the Steckel hit.

that last 24/7 ep was hard to watch. it was like re-living all the things that were wrong with the WC. Those refs were infuriating, the whole giving Ovi the warning not to leave his feet as if he's never done it before, i mean really, aren't we past the warning stage with him. Then the ref whining to the Caps bench about Cookie saying he missed 7 cross checks, when i'm pretty sure he actually did. And not to sound like i wear a tin foil hat but i sorta feel like the refs are now taking it out on the Pens for the refs looking like assholes in 2 of 4 episodes.
at this point i'm glad the WC is in the past and more focused on the rest of the season and wondering why no one feels compelled effing clock that little fucker Subban.
