I've actually NEVER watched it before, but this was entertaining. Though it seems hard to believe that these two were the *very best* out of all those thousands of people who tried out originally

I'm trying to find a good, cute summer bag that doesn't cost $40, incorporates a shade of blue, will hold all my stuff, and closes enough that everything won't fall on the floor if it lands on its side in the car or something. And even if it has short straps, it needs to be big enough to go over the shoulder. Do I have any other specifications? I'm not picky!

Well, I think you'd totally love the Bermuda Blue pattern from Vera Bradley (probably the However, those are a little bit over $40 - though you can definitely get them way cheaper than list price on ebay.
If you want super dirt cheap, though, I'd definitely recommend a tote (zip-top) from L.L. Bean. CLASSIC. There are now several different color combinations, and you can get it monogrammed - how cute. :)
the original - small or medium (depending on whether you want a "purse" or a bookbag size), with long handles, in Blue Iris or Turquoise
All of these are under $30 and really good quality (my parents have had various of these for YEARS and they're indestructible - just throw them in the washing machine). I think they would be great for what you're looking for - and both "grown up" and cute/fun at the same time!

haha. Bean is the largest non-governmental employer in Maine. going to the big factory store in Freeport at, like, 2 a.m. is a college-student tradition (they're open 24/7). and their bags are indestructible.
but the burberry is something of an investment, so i say go for it. (a caveat: i'm a bagaholic, with my two most prized being the gucci-by-tom-ford i got in italy and my new chanel pochet, which was an engagement gift from my mom. so i'm not the most reliable source for fiscally responsible bag acquisition. :))

Maybe not, but you have great taste! :) I love Chanel, Gucci, Marc Jacobs, etc . . . and someday I'll be able to afford them. ;) Right now I'm still in the Coach/Vera Bradley/etc. slightly lower circle of handbag love (not that I don't like it) . . .
I've wanted a Burberry coat since I was 14 years old (both my parents have lovely ones from the 1970's) - before they were ridiculously popular, thankyouverymuch :-p - but I just started getting into the bags recently. Sigh.

i got into it because mom loves bags and likes to give me hand-me-downs to make room for her own new ones. i have a vera bradley carry-on bag that's pretty great. i haven't carried anything by coach since before coach was trendy, but they have awesome stuff now. chanel is timeless, gucci is gorgeous, and vuitton is -- these days -- wholly overpriced. you can get great fake vuittons so there's no reason for them to charge more than gucci or chanel for a bag. ugh

I found a Fossil on sale.divajennMay 26 2005, 22:12:19 UTC
I think it's cute. It's not at all what I thought I wanted, but I brought it home to try out. We shall see if I still like it when i try to use it in the morning.
I'm pretty rough on all kinds of purses and bags, so I don't usually spend too much on them.
The aunt I'm living with is big on designer bags. She had to replace her Dooney wallet after it was pretty much past salvation, and I helped her pick a new one by a newer designer that makes absolutely gorgeous leather bags. Right now her name slips my mind, though.

uh, yeah. So Marisa...I was looking for a cute bag to tote my new ISM laptop around in (as well as other Camerata materials) in the fall. Any thoughts? You really should be a personal shopper!

striped - medium size, in Clear Blue
Or just create your own color combination!
