$10,000.00/year raise?
OK, I know I just started here teaching, but before I switched jobs, I had my name in with a scientific placement company. They called last week telling me about a clinical lab manager job at an independent regional lab located 20 minutes from our house. They pay $50,000.00/year. The hours are 4- 10 hour days, Thursday-Sunday. So I won't have a weekend off any time in the near future if I take it. I have an interview with them tomorrow morning. They have been looking a long time to fill the position and are apparently really excited about meeting me! I am currently making $40,000.00/yr, will probably get a raise next month up to $42,000.00/yr, and if I stay here, I can be a permanent instructor getting a raise every year of 1-2 k/yr for eternity. Other job comes with more vacation and retirement benefits. I will be getting the exact numbers soon. Oh, and I can drop the kids daycare to half-time if I do this, saving me about $600.00/month. But, no full days off with Rob. Ugh! What to do, what to do?!
