(no subject)
Hello one and all...
sorry that I have not been around at all. Started my new job on Monday and this week is all training. That means 9-5 with my head being stuffed will all sorts of good info!
Overall so far so good. The people are really nice, the office is great and the software so far seems really powerful and well designed. For those of you who do not know it is a search engine software company. Not like google, it is instead for company sites. Some examples you can look at are CompUSA, CircuitCity, Walmart and Home Depot. The navigation on the site, the lists of number of items in categories and the directed marketing based on where you are all done by my software. It is pretty neat.
Now the commute....the commute is potentailly hell. Amber has this really long drive so we were trying to have me ride with her to a train station somewhere north then ride in. This way she was not alone the whole way. However, Monday it took me over 2 hours and Tues it took 3 + !!. So that is not doable. Today I took the train from Attleboro then the subway here and it was under an hour from getting on the Train to getting off the Subway. MUCH better. I then proceeded to get lost from the Subway for a few minutes...HA! Oh well. Still it was 2 hrs door to door from my house cause of parking, waiting for the train, getting lost, etc. But getting better.
Found out my buddy from college works about a block from me! His company also has 3 floors in the building I am in. That is awesome. I have only seen him like 2xs in the last 5 or 6 years. So that will be nice to get to hang with him. Then there are all the rest of you in Cambridge and the general boston area. I am so excited!! Went from never being home to working near a lot of my friends! Woo hoo!!
But that is about is so far. Just trying to get my bearings in my new location and new job. Sorry been so out of touch.
