A quick poll, help me choose by posting your choice.
I'm currently reading Jade Eye by Li Chun-Ying. It's a personal account of what it was like to grow up as a peasant in China at the time of the cultural revolution.
My choices for what to read next (picked at semi random from my to read pile) are:
1. Mao, the unknown story by Jung Chang and Jon Halliday. It would follow on fairly well from the current book I guess but I have been reading a lot of asian history recently.
2. Mona Lisa Overdrive by William Gibson. I didn't like Neuromancer but I've heard this is quite different and I'm prepared to give him one more chance.
3. (just to be perverse) The Fires of Spring by James Michener. His stuff can be great or incredibly tedious and I've never read this one so who knows how good it will be!
