Tomi and I drove back to El Paso the other day. Took her Pathfinder, since it does a heck of alot better on gas then the Jeep. Filled up with primium at 2.67.
Yes. Premium. 2.67. Regular was 2.47. Yay for cheap gas.
Anyone in Albuquerque who doesnt know about Freeway Liquors is dumb.
Had all three cats on the way down. Juno was having a grand old time watching out the windows and sleeping with Big Ass Kitty. Big Ass Kitty spent most of the time in his bag. Sam was a bitch most of the way though. Tomi had to lock her up because she jumped into my lap, scratched me, and almost attacked my head... this was before Belen even.
We made the trip in about 4 and a half hours, which wasnt bad since we stopped a few times. According to the GPS, i was averaging about 72, and my top speed was 85.
Speaking of the Pathfinder, we're making it sorta spiff. I had found a purple LED clearance light at Autozone, so we wired it into the dome light circut, and it stays on all the time. Its pretty dim so people cant see into the car at night, but at the same time, its bright enough to light up the inside at night, without being so bright its annoying.
Not stopping there, we ordered two purple glass bulbs for the inside dome lights, and some UV led lights to mount under the dash and under the seats for a nice UV glow inside the car. Probably going to wire them to the ignition so they're on only when the car is on.
Also need to get her a dash mat since her dash is getting faded and cracked.
Something i've wanted to do for a while is mount 2 or 4 big off-road lights to the roof rack cross bar, so while i'm down here, i found one of the cross bars in the shed, so i mounted the lights that were originally on the bumper up there. Looks kinda like the truck has ears now. I'll do it more permanant later, and wire them up. Now, if we take her truck camping or something we'll have the extra light, plus we can always take the cross bar off when we dont need them.
Dont want to lose any fuel economy anyway.
I need to find a bar for mine.
I left the damn laptop in the jeep, i just wasnt thinking. I had finals in the morning and i didnt use the laptop so i forgot about it. Oh well. Have the computer here. The jeep is in front of my cousin's house up in Albuquerque so it should be ok. When i get back up, i need to fix my brake lights, apparently they arent working. Tomi noticed it when she was behind me the day we left.
Hm. What else. We're staying at my parents house, the cats are at her dad's house, her dad is actually playing nice with both of us, which is weird. And in a few days we'll head back up to Albuquerque, and try and find somewhere to live.
Thats about it.
Leave me love.
