Eurovision!

A little late, but...

Fear, my European pals - RTE have finally gotten their act together! No little wannabe stars chosen by the public through You're A Star this year: we're sending a professional singer/songwriter to Eurovision. His name is Brian Kennedy ("A Better Man", "One Kiss", "Life, Love & Happiness", "Put the Message in the Box") and the song (which he wrote) is called "Every Song is a Cry for Love".

It's a ballad, which may be a strike against it, but the first time I heard it on the Late Late Show it nearly moved me to tears. So far, I think it stands a chance, Mam Wulf thinks it hasn't a hope, and Nelly is undecided. I wish they'd play it on the radio while Ozone's in earshot; she successfully called the Eurovision last year.

It'd be great to win it again. Pat Kenny counted down the top ten Irish Eurovision winners on the Late Late a few weeks ago; it was really something to relive all the good times (even if the "Rock and Roll Kids" win was Riverdance-assisted).

Ah well. All that really matters is that we bate de Brits. ;-)

Everything else...well, could be better, but we're coping.
