So, swimming every day isn’t working out.

Swimming every two days, on the other hand, is.

It works out at about three or four times a week, and I’m not gonna let it get less frequent than that. If I want any results, then I have to stick to it. Going every second day also means that on alternate evenings, I’ve got time to sit down and write, or play computer games, or go online.

Speaking of writing, I’ve been getting a good bit done since I last updated. (Part of this is because I’m trying - for the sake of my free time and my phone bill - to cut down on ‘Net time.) Unfortunately I haven’t moved on any of my WiPs, which in the case of ‘Forgotten’ is absolutely shameful, given that a) there’s people out there waiting for the next chapter, b) the next chapter is the last chapter. However, I’ve written a few bits and pieces that I’ve had in my head for a while. None of them are finished yet and they may never be, but now that they’re on my hard drive, they’re no longer screaming at me to be written.

MSTed a little more of Celebrian. I have two and a half pages left to go. However; with my goal in sight, I find myself in a bind. The original author did not give hir permission for me to MST it, much less publish the MSTed form. I had intended to post it here in sections and custom-lock the journal, but it would be nice to share it with the whole board. No doubt there would be folks out there willing to host it on their websites, but that brings us back to the whole permission thing. I’d hate the original author to come across it and give someone else grief over my MST. Any ideas as to a solution?

I’ll probably cross-post the following to the In Progress forum at GAFF, but in the meantime:
Those of you who are B:tVS fans - how would you feel about a fic where Giles got turned into a wolf?

It would not be done for laughs of the “Ha ha giels iz a dog an now he has to crap outside lol!!!” kind. The villain does it for an in-story reason which has to do with the backstory of the early Slayers. While the rest of the gang try to research the villain and find a way to change Giles back, they and Giles have to cope with his transformation. For example:
- Giles can no longer read, so as far as research goes, he’s out.
- He can’t speak and has to use body language to communicate.
- The Scoobies are inclined to pet him a lot (because hey! big furry doggie!) and it bothers him that they barely hugged him when he was a human.
- Over the course of the story, Giles starts to exhibit more wolf/dog behaviour: he starts to get hunting instincts, he gets panicky if he’s left on his own, he growls at the social worker because she’s a stranger and she’s in his house, etc. This starts to worry him because it’s a sign that his rational human mind is starting to slip away.
- The story’s set in season six, and Buffy’s already having a hard time trying to cope with being alive again, paying the bills, keeping custody of Dawn, etc. She really doesn’t need this thing with Giles, too.

Giles does get turned back at the end of the story. It’s not ‘shippy in any way (for those of you who’ve read my B/G stuff and are nervous ;-P). I’ve had this idea for some time, and I really want to know if anyone would read it, or if the whole concept would put people off. So please, be honest. Or, if you can see any potential ways the story could slide into the realm of the stupid or godawful, feel free to speak up.
