[Well, the time has come, and Dru is out again, this time searching for her newest play things. It was time for the game to take new levels, and so, she wandered the darkness with graceful movements, her black gown blowing slightly in the breeze. To anyone that didn't know her, she no doubt looked completely harmless, but any who thought that would ( Read more... )

[Restlessness. That's been pretty much the story of Derek's life for at least a month now. Restlessness and a feeling of frustration. He's done his best to keep it under wraps, of course, but at some point, it has to be let out, or he'll drive himself crazy.

So when he gets hit with that urge tonight, he leaves the apartment and heads for the lake. Thanks to the infection, he feels as much at home in the dark as he ever did in sunlight. He's been avoiding that too, for that reason, trying to avoid temptation and the possible consequences that would come with it. But tonight, he lets that loose, allowing instinct to guide him through shadows and underbrush until he reaches the edge of the lake.

He's good at it, too. Perhaps because it comes naturally to him anyway, or maybe because of the years of hunting vampires. Whatever the reason, there's a part of him that takes pride in it as he finds himself at the water, and crouches there, trailing a few fingers through the reflective surface. He watches as the ripples of the water catch light from the sky above, his expression deep in thought.]

[Drusilla watched from the shadows with interest. She could smell and sense that this man was different, but also still somewhat human. It intrigued her to think that such a man existed, and she couldn't help wanting to find out more about this strangers situation. However, for now, she would just watch and see what he would do.]

[He stays there for a while, running his fingers in the water and occasionally looking up to study the newest 'work of art' in the skies. He seems to be in his own little world, but there's an occasional tic of a shoulder muscle, or very slight turn of the head to indicate that at least some part of him is aware that he might be being watched. Still, other than those slight signs, he does nothing about it.

Eventually, he'll stand, making his way down the shoreline as he takes the night air in with deep, steady breaths.]

[As she watches the man start walking down the shoreline, she finally decides to leave her place in the shadows, her movements just a flowing and graceful adding to her look of innocence.]

Enjoying the night~?

{OOC: Np...I did end up doing a new post for Derek last night, so whatever we do with him, he has to be functional enough for last night's post. BUt let's see how it goes, anyway. I'm sure I cna fudge something since he was on radio silence all week anyway. XD

Also: HUGS and GLAD YOU ARE OKAY!!!!!}

[Derek catches slight movement out of the corner of his eye first...and the scent second, and he tenses. He listens for a heartbeat and running blood as he turns to face this new person, but doesn't show it on his face. Instead, he nods at her politely.]

Yeah. Kinda pretty tonight, even with the funny stars. [Pause]

Don't think we've met before.

[Ah, yeah, right, Talking stars...oboy. Derek sits on his fight-or-flight response. It's not going to do him much good if his senses aren't lying to him, after all.]

They talk to you often?
