Charlie Kaufman is my goddam hero

I went to see "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" last night. SEE THIS MOVIE. It's a terrific mindfuck that is all the things a good fuck should be. If memory serves, anyway (pardon the pun). For a good while it seemed to be an incredibly clever extension of a moderately interesting science-fiction conceit, and then quietly, under the radar, BAM! It takes on actual relevance to real life, and that relevance makes it all the more gripping. It's honest, poigniant, hilarious, visually stimulating (even sober!), and if you let your guard down you stand a good chance of facial leakage.

In other news, my apartment is finally fit to be human habitat and that makes me very happy. Even the bathroom has been rid of it's uneven carpet of expired hair and lint. (Where the hell does that lint come from, anyway?) Oddly, for the duration of my cohabitation with unspeakable filth I've been healthy as a horse. Now that I've banished the mess I can feel myself coming down with a bugger of a cold. It's like some kind of delayed blast karmic infection. Alas, que sera, sera. I've got my echinacea tea. I'm ready for this latest breakdown in the uneasy truce between my living habits and my immune system.

Bring it, virus! I'm bigger than you, and I'll whoop you good, even if I'm outnumbered a billion to one.
