Caribbean Dancing

I just signed up for a new dance class with Los Gatos-Saratoga Recreation. Anyone want to join me on Thursday nights starting this week??

Ten 1.5 hour sessions for $89 is a really good deal! The Caribbean drumming class meets right before and then stays to provide the rhythms...

Class Description:

Caribbean Dancing
Become versed in styles of Trinidad's folklore and other ritualistic forms that have evolved from the merging of African and South American cultures, inspiring the joy for life throughout the ages. Experience an exhilarating aerobic workout that feels effortless and fun. Get motivated by the pulsing rhythms of live drumming. Learn uplifting traditional movements that excite your passion. Satisfy needs for fitness and artistic expression while creating well being in the mind, body, and spirit. Performance opportunities available, if interested. Class is welcome to all creeds, gender, ages, ethnicities, and ability levels. No shoes are necessary, bring water, and wear clothes you can sweat in comfortably. Visit www.allnowjam.org or contact Shereen for more information, shereen333@yahoo.com. Drop in option: $12 payable to the instructor. NO CLASSES:2/21.
Instructor: Shereen Manalani has taught at West Valley College, San Jose State, has been a guest instructor and choreographer at Mission Cultural Center, Alice Arts Center, Santa Clara University, and for local performance groups. Her passion for this style led to 14 years of study under internationally known dance master, Wilfred Mark.

I think I may also sign up for a 10-class pass with a yoga studio this week. I don't want to feel pressure to go to two fitness classes every week, but I've been wanting to try yoga for a long time and having a pass will give me some flexibility.
