Earthquake in Alum Rock Well, that was fun. We had just cleared about 200 costumed children out of the Alum Rock Library when a 5.6 earthquake hit minutes later. It was just a few miles north of us, so we got shaken up pretty well. Amazingly, most things remained on their shelves (we're well-secured for earthquakes around here!) We were just glad everyone had left. Our Halloween party was chaotic enough without the help of Mother Nature.
We did have fun tonight. We told stories, had a Book Walk (instead of a cake walk), hosted a costume contest (a tiny flower won "Cutest Costume"!), painted faces, and our teen council frightened people in their week-long Haunted House (usually--Study Room B). Clay came and helped pass out Halloween trail mix and vampire's blood punch.
Anyhow...
Did anyone else feel the quake?
