Forgive the day-by-day format but I'm trying to remember everything as it happened.
Friday: Did the work thing, went to classes and finished with my Spanish Composition. I immediately headed over to Anime Club and sat with Mat and Theresa. Afterwards, we went up to Tiffany's room to grab some stuff for Shinnenkai then headed over to Lower Alexander to start the set up. We got most of the craft tables and laterns up by the time the pizza came. Everyone paid enough to get their own medium pizza. I ended up eating ALL of my pizza (pineapple) which was disappointing since I was looking forward to having leftovers. After we were done with Shinnenkai stuff Jen and I headed over to Ashley's room where Ari and Mo were waiting for us. Mo had apparently hacked Ashley's lj and left a will and testament which included this line:
Marie: I leave you the identity of L...it's-
::dies of a heart attack::
I got very excited for a second because I thought that she might actually have a clue to the identity of my mystery L, but it turned out that Ari had suggested Mo put that down just to mess with my head. It didn't stop me from pouncing on Mo and being to interrogate her very roughly. Ashely looked on in amusement and joked that she knew who L was and that he lived in her closet. I knew the possibility of this being true was slim, but I felt it was worthwhile to check the closet anyway. Ari was so amused she took very pictures of my face which apparently had an very disgruntled expression. Mo left early to get some sleep and Ashley played Paper Mario while Jen read manga on the futon. Ari and I had way to much fun looking up magic card tricks online and trying them out on each other. We also looked up Cat's Cradle and other string games and figured out how to make a winking eye and a moth. We both failed at Lightening, but Ari was a lot closer to getting it than me.
Saturday: Shinnenkai. I went over a little late for the set up but found I was the third person there. Most of the set up was going around the craft tables and making "models" of the crafts for people to follow. There was a girls' day table for making paper dolls, an origami table (I made figure puppets!), and another one for making fish windsocks. There was a table for writing wishes on a piece of paper and then you could hang them up on a little bamboo tree Tiffany bought. We also had a table where you could write Haikus and enter them in a contest for a box of Pocki. Our new friend Phil (who is also a big Berserk fan!!!) wrote this little gem (excuse the paraphrasing)
To write a haiku
you have to be so careful.
That bamboo tree owns
Tobi wrote a few awesome haikus of his own, but they weren't selected for the semifinals.
So, at Shinnenkai, we had sushi catered from a resturant down in Cincinnati. It was really nice stuff. The anime club had made trips down to there before and Jen and I had our birthday party down there. We had Taiko drummers perform and the university's Judo time did a demonstration as well. A good time was had by all. Ari and I had fun running around showing people our new card tricks. By the end of the day, more than a few people owed her $14.
After Shinnenkai there was a "Anime Sharing Party". Most of the Anime club showed up to swap series on their hard drives and laptops. I didn't bring anything cause I'm already really backlogged on series. I just hung out with people instead. It was a really fun time. I played pool with Ari, Mat and Phil. Mat is actually really good and knew what he was doing. Ari hasn't had a lot of practice but she could make the CRAZIEST shots. I still don't know how she made most of those sinks. Phil didn't know what he was doing (he almost killed Mat by jumping the cue ball XD) but he could make some really cool shots behind his back. It was so much fun. There was also Guitar Hero, Super Smash Brothers and Zombie movies which I didn't partake in much. It got kind of awkward when Sammy came up to me while I was watching Guitar Hero, obviously drunk, and started talking about the books he got for X-mas. We started talking about DDR and he kept demanded we have a rematch cause the last time we played I was WAY better than him. I told him I didn't know if I had the time but he didn't get the hint. He started moving closer and closer so I had to step back a few times to protect my personal space. Rob noticed and said, "Why the hell, man? Are you hitting on her?" Fortunely this was a awkward enough statement for both of us for him to stop and he left about a half-hour later. Otherwise everything went pretty well. Court and Mariah showed up as well which was happy cause Court was showing Mariah the Yu-gi-oh abridged series. I forgot how good some of the first episodes are. *note to self: show Phil Berserk Abridged Series*
Mat, Phil, Ari, and I left around 4:30am. Ari had come with a lot of extra bags so we helped her carry the stuff back to Collins. It was pretty funny cause Ari was still freaked from the Zombie movie so Phil was all like "Hey, what's that in the distance?" or "What's that person doing, walking so slowly towards us?" Poor Ari. Even I was getting creeped out by the time we got on Cook Field.
So I ended up getting back to the room kinda late which is fine cause I could sleep in today. I'm feeling a little bad cause I have sooo much to do this weekend and now I only have half of Sunday to do it.
I guess I'll watch some more Spanish sitcoms to help improve my listening then work on my Astronomy questions. I also want to get some writing done today. Hopefully it will all work out. Please work out!
best weekend ever,
friends
