New Car

Hey everyone, I got a car! I decided to go with a brand new car from a dealership because of the awesome deal I got on it and the warranty it had. Not to mention they let me finance it myself, and I didn't have to get a co-signer. I figured it wasn't that much more for a new cheap car than a used nice car. I really just wanted a small, dependable car that I could afford on my own. I think I got a really good deal and I'm really happy with my new car. I have a picture!

Introducing.... SPOT!

Isn't she beautiful? It's a new color design that's going to be all the fashion soon. It's like a quilted color look. I think it has a lot of class. I like to call her Spot.

Okay, seriously now. I got a 2010 Hyundai Accent.

It's a small manual shift car with a lot of pep. She's super speedy. I think she looks fantastic. I haven't come up with a name for her yet. I figure these things take time.

Here is a front view.

Remember how I was complaining about my crappy 2 1/2 hour a day commute? Well, with my new car, it only takes me 20 minutes, 30 tops to get from home to work. What does this actually mean for my day? Well, take Tuesdays for example. Without a car, I would arrive home sometime between 10:10 or 10:30 at night. I would be standing out on street corners by bus stops after dark for over 20 minutes some nights. On a bad night, it would take almost 40 minutes for me to make a connection. Then I would need to go to bed AS SOON AS I GOT HOME so I could wake up the next day a 6am so I could get ready to take the bus the next morning. With a car, I get home around the time that I would catch the bus from work. This saves me 30-40 minutes of commuting and I'm not left standing on street corners by myself at night. Also, I can wake up an hour later because the morning commute is shorter as well. The car is giving me at least an hour and a half of my life back on a normal day and gives me the opportunity to have a social life not just on the weekends (for the nights I get off at 6pm). Also, it gives me the ability to visit Pittsburgh or Oxford on weekends, something I'm definately planning on doing, soon if I can. Quality of life with a car is way higher than without one. I didn't really need a car in college, and it is a luxury to have one now, but it will definatly help me out in the long run, especially since this car is new, and should probably last me for as long as I want it.
