Life in the fast lane

Animism is one of the oldest forms of religon in the world. It appeared at almost the exact time all over the world; there was no gradual spread like with things such as agriculture. One day, it just was.

Now I figure there are two theories to explain this. A) humans are naturally hard-wired to NEED a religon, and animism is simply the most basic form of it. Or B) Maybe there's actually something to it.

I'm not saying we should run out and start talking to rocks or anything, I'm just saying that since there was no spread and it just came into being, maybe there's some guiding force behind it.

This brings us to the topic of this update. I've decided to try a few methods of those ancient shamans to commune with the universe. Since I have to attend school and thusly can't spend a week in the darkest part of a cave painting pictures of buffalos, I've decided to fast.

For the next 10 days, I'm going to abstain from eating, which shouldn't be too hard since I only eat one meal a day anyway. Hopefully, I'll be able to get some meditation time in there too. I'll let you guys know if I have any amazing spiritual insights once I'm through this. Peace out, yo.
