*in response to you comment in the community (it won't let me post b/c i'm not listed as a friend for some reason):
Hi, i'm Gina, a 19 year old 1/2 black 1/2 italian (i have pretty dark skin though) and I saw your post and thought i'd give you a little imput.
First of all: 1. I truly believe that any interacial relationship is going to attract attention, even if you have the most tolerant family. My mother is black and my dad is white and it was a big deal when they got married. Sure now everything is fine and it is accepted, but it hasn't always been easy for them, but because they loved each other they made it work. And that's probably what you will have to do if you really want to pursue a relationship with someone outside of your race.
2. I have no real tips on "how to attract a black female", being a "half-black" girl growing up in white suburbia, i've dated only white guys and it's never been an issue. However, now at a large university, I get a lot of slack from my black/CV/puerto rican friends that are forever saying: "i need a black man." I can tell you what attracts me to men in general, I like someone who is comfortable with themselves, likes to have fun, is athletic and has a great sense of humor. Of the guys i've dated, I know they've been white guys that had kind of an urban background, where we have things in common such as music. That was something that brought us together, I remember I was just friends with this guy my junior year and we were hanging out and he put on some music..I think it was Tupac and he was rapping along and I was like "hold up?" From there we found we had a lot of similar interests, and it made it easier to bond. Idk..i'm not saying that I don't like skater guys or punk-rock guys, but it's easier when you have at least a little common background.
Anyways, I hope this helped you out at least a little bit! feel free to add me if you'd like to chat or read any of my entries (they're friends only) and good luck! - Georgie Castellucci -
